UNLV Symphony Orchestra UNLV Symphony to Present a Spooky Night of French Impressionism and Halloween Thrills Featuring Violin Virtuoso DeAnne Letourneau ! LAS VEGAS, NV – Prepare for a night of spine-tingling music and hauntingly beautiful melodies as the UNLV Symphony brings a special Halloween-themed concert to the Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall on October 30, 2024, at 7:30 PM. Under the direction of Taras Krysa, this concert will feature a captivating program of French Impressionist works, with the added excitement of outstanding local violin virtuoso DeAnne Letourneau performing solo in two of the evening’s most thrilling pieces. Program Highlights: Camille Saint-Saëns – Danse Macabre Opening the evening with a touch of the macabre, the orchestra will perform Saint-Saëns' spine-chilling "Danse Macabre," featuring the brilliant DeAnne Letourneau on violin. Her mastery and interpretive skill will bring to life the eerie, dancing skeletons and haunting melodies, setting the perfect Halloween tone. Claude Debussy – Prelude to the Afternoon of the Faun After the shivers of Saint-Saëns, the symphony will explore the dreamlike, sensual atmosphere of Debussy’s masterpiece. This lush and evocative piece offers a moment of enchantment and mystery, capturing the magical essence of an autumn evening. Maurice Ravel – Tzigane Letourneau returns to the stage with a breathtaking performance of Ravel’s "Tzigane," a dazzling and fiery piece that showcases her virtuosic talent. This hauntingly beautiful work will mesmerize audiences, as she masterfully navigates the intricate, gypsy-inspired rhythms and melodies, making it a highlight of the evening.
