PYTOR ILYICH TCHIAKOVSKY CONCERTO FOR VIOLIN AND ORCHSTRA IN D MAJOR, OP. 35

by Ed Bruce edbrucevegas@yahoo.com

Only my favorite piece of classical music.

UNLV SUMPHONY ORCHESTRA

Everything I have ever said about UNLV in a negative fashion is now retracted. Any college that can put out this orchestra (41 strings) and train this talent has moved to the top of my list !

All Russian program...Glinka, Tchaikovsky and Prokofiev.

Started on time with Taras Krysa musical director and conductor in complete control thruout.

International artist Oleh Krysa played the violin concerto from memory and afterward, thanked the orchestra, the conductor (who he has known a long time....his son) and then thanked a donor who provided a "strad" for this show....what classical class.

Hard to follow this act but they tried with Prokofiev's ballet for Romeo and Juliet...it was fine...everything is to taste of course, but this had my preapproval and the theme was enhanced in reality with this combination of elements.

A+ 100 this is as good as it gets ! !
