TERRY FATOR

by Ed Bruce edbrucevegas@yahoo.com

Bad news first.... 11 minutes late and no way out of the theatre.....after the show lobby hawkers and wheelchair bound folks were enterting the 3 aisles imprisoning 100's of show goers for 20 minutes...we could not get out....WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE ?
The event was able to encompass the big three .....too late....too dark ....tooooooo loud ....room for improvement in all these areas. For a ventriliquist I did not need a 7 piece band !

All that said... Terry Fator is a rising mega star with tons of talent and voices encompassing a large range of characters, impressions and songs. Boy is this guy terrific, still developing with what looks like limitless potential. Fator, winner of "Americas's got talent" tv show, has not only got talent, he has got the talent of a lot of the rest of us. He sings, he ad libs, he creates and he is one hell of ventrilquist. The Barry Manilow room has large screens and it is easy to see his lips do not move.....he yoddles, he cries like Roy Orbison and he creates his own characters.....and one he stole from Ronn Lucas......Lucas and Jeff Dunham the worlds top ventrilquists, both reviewed here, are only ahead of Fator in experience.

Fator's beautiful singing voice, an act in itself is my argument that he could cut the band. Lots of nice production, backdrops and new ideas in this show. I am sure in my old age that some of the impersonations were people unknown to me...altho I sure as hell knew NatCole, Louis Armstrong, Roy Orbison, Dean Martin and Sammy. Everybody does Elvis and Michael Jackson and Fator's work here, altho full of energy and detail, were not among my favorites. Everything is to taste and Fator has ben extended thru 2008 at the Las Vegas Hilton. What a beautiful stage presence for this comer....hope to see him again as he develops.

86 B....... that is mostly for not getting started and not getting out....but I do the whole package...I have very little time left and lots of symphonys yet to be heard !
