STATE SYMPHONHY ORCHESTRA OF MEXICO

by Ed Bruce edbrucevegas@yahoo.com

So many symphonys to be heard so little time.....well I heard a few yesterday, all good...not many other folks did tho, only a couple hundred at the Charles Vanda Masters Series program at UNLV. All who did not attend were big losers ! ! !

They were late 7 minutes but they were good...54 strings highlited by master guitar player Alfonso Moreno's playing Concierto de Aranjuez by Rodrigo...just lovely soft, almost inaudible with strings behind it...a real winner...all guitars players should pay attention here.

Brahms, Schumann, Revueltas and 3 encores...second half a bit busy with lots of horns and drums but they did det a lot of mileage out of these 54 strings players...an evening well spent. A- 92.

Drove to Death Valley yesterday just see the flowers... 266 mile round trip, got 31 MPG on the Honda, gas was $4.69 there ..... we are close to the end of civilization with the loosing of the polar bears and elephants, but not yesterday. I got to see the flowers and to hear the symphony. An A+ 100 day for me ! ! !
