This...... the Las Vegas barbershop singing group, 48 year history, their annual show at the Summerlin Library and Performaing Arts Center. Great theatre, air conditioning and seating !
I wanted to like this and I have in the past but they are pushing the envelope on age, singing, production and programming. Maybe its like us old handball players.....we still want to play only we are not as good as we once were !
Not a guy on stage you would not like......17 men, four women, some fair singing and a corny storyline. They did a takeoff on the election to new creative lyrics with video (too much video), it was pretty corny and poorly done but you have to give somebody credit for creativity and trying. This group in its history in Ls Vegas has gone thru many cycles of administration and ability and I love them for trying....what a nice bunch of guys ! So hard to look at Jersey Boys and then this ....the shows should not be compared but the bar is real high for me to be entertained. Started 3 minutes late, terrible lighting and continuity, it went 2.20 with a 16 minute intermission (an opportunity to leave). How can I grade this ?
