SPRING DANCE CONCERT

by Ed Bruce edbrucevegas@yahoo.com

Communicty College of Southern Nevada student concert .....just outstanding.

Concert Dance Company is our semi-professional performanc3e group. Designed to give the student experience in a professionally oriented dance environment, the company mentors its members through the assimilation of new choreography and repertory in anticipation of opportunities for formal performances, educational outreach programs, and possible touring. The company is intended to refine the more experienced dancer and is open to those serious students who qualify thru audition. That is what it says in their excellent program....about right.

Three shows at the campus theatre, nice production, good lighting, great costumes and well blocked choreography and some fresh creativity and humor in the art. I loved the "Business as Usual" piece with two female dancers and two folding chairs. The big deal was The Seven Deadly Sins choreographed by CCSN dance daddy Kelly Roth.....SALUTE.

STARTED 3 minutes late and their 15 minute intermission was 18 minutes...background music for SINS almost overpowered the dance.....the bridges between pieces were very cleverly done. This show capped a big day for me 95 A
