AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE II

by Ed Bruce edbrucevegas@yahoo.com

New York Stage and Beyond Series at the Artemus Ham Hall on UNLV campus. Hope they never build the new theatre...this is the perfect spot for this series and with only 300 tonight they don't need more room....the world missed some nice ballet tonight.

800 alleged kickoff
803 first dance
822 intermission one
835 second dance
850 intermission two
903 dance
912 intermission two and a half
918 dance
932 fini

92 minute program with 57 minutes dance 35 minutes dead time....no cell phones tonight but plenty of appluase at the wrong times as usual.

All classical stuff and all from choreography off the well beaten path !

Don't know what ABT ll is....maybe the second team....whatever they were they were very profession, very athletic and very hard working.....I enjoyed the 57 minutes....well costumed and finished with some fine Tchaikovsky music behind Allegro Brillante.

Young dancers....some teenagers....and all first or second year team members which ABT ll described as, "a classical companyof 14 young dancers of outstanding potential". That was in their program and exactly right....loved it.
