You can't get a perfect score if you do not start on time .......everybody pretty much starts with a 100 and we go from there.....103, A+ for Linda Eder tonight !
What a beautiful songbird we have here....going for 3 nights at the Sun Coast in Las Vegas. Everything absolutley perfect tonight begining with Eder and her instrument in perfect form.
She started on time and ran 88 minutes... finished with Over the Rainbow .....sent me home with tears in my eyes. Audience (sold out) with lots of white hair like me and they really appreciated this moment with a songbook of standards backed up by two keyboards, bass, drums and a horn player.....again all perfectly arranged so not to get in the road of the lyrics and the voice....perfect and perfect arrangements to highlite the instrument.
Eder....born with this great voice did nothing to hurt it and she melds into the Johnny Mathis category of songsters....you can hear every word and they are delivered to you like they were on special menu for you alone.....if not....thats the interpretation I got.
With the proper mechanics....voice, production, sound, theatre and audience this all came together tonight in one perfect show.
Eder in a perfect peach knee length dress and grey high heels looked like the All American girl from Brainerd, Minnesota, which she is ! Close as I can figure, 45ish, one son, no husband (boy is somebody missing out here) and a sincere loveable stage presence that left us all wanting more.
Coast Casinos can be proud of this and the numbers will hopefully bring her back soon, next up for them on my list the number three composer in history at the Orleans in November, Neil Sedaka.
How blessed I am to see this perfect show and live on the same planet as Linda Eder and the Coast properties promotions and bookings.
