Very nice, banjo, bass, 2 guitars, vocals, no drums.....great idea !
Sold out three nights at the South Point, mostly older folks who like lyrics....original member Bob Shane joined the three newcomers to the group for some bad jokes and Scoth and Soda. The newcomers to the Kingston Trio in the 25 plus year category and all can play and sing and are appreciated for keeping this rare songbook alive !
Too much bull shit and screwing around with the music for me....the songbook itself (folk music) is enough to carry the load.....I would reccommend this to the world. They started on time, not too loud, not too dark, so we succeeded on the big three.
A fire alarm went off during Tijuana Jail....not to be detered....the group forged on, as they said until the bartenders and cocktail waitresses left...(they didn't)....so we had some fun with that. 82 minute set which included some Trio songs not often played....good lyrics and with that sound makeup you get winners.
97 A+
You have to thank the South Pointe for bringing this in.....look for this venue to cater to the National Finals Rodeo up next.......nice venue to visit and the new freeway exit is instant access ....south south south Las Vegas.
