HENDERSON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

BY ED BRUCE edbrucevegas@yahoo.com

Ballet on Saturday......symphony on Sunday....sweet out here in the desert....so many symphonys to be heard so little time.....but I got four today.

Great stuff here..... in Henerson at their recreation center with free quality classical stuff.

Conductor Taras Kyrsa puts his heart into this quality organization...he said today..."You may not like it, but respect it ! " How insightful....I liked it for him.

Leadoff...The Unanswered Question by Charles E. Ives....great....inovative...too short !

Next Knoxville: Summer of 1915 by samul Barber....Stephanie Thorpe, soprano....she was beautiful....anytime you have vocal over strings.... for me the vocal seems to interupt a good sound....just me.

Intermission at 29 in !

Two Pieces for Orchestra by Virko Baley....new...nice...too short !

Firebird Suite by Igor Stravinsky....only sensational...too short !

74 minutes to include intermision....started on time unlike the Nevada Ballet Theatre ...great program with historical stuff I neded to know.....an opportunity to contribute in the program....I did.....next March 27 at the classic Henderson Pavilion 2 pm....we should all be their except for children.

100 A+
