11-1 third Friday free lunch and entertainment at the entertainment at the Lloyd D. George United States Courthouse...downtown Las Vegas....Tenors 4U....Mark Thomsen...Alfonse Anderson....Michael Rodrigues...piano Barbara Riske. Just world class talent with outstanding classical music....started 7 minutes late....it took some of the old farts extra time to load up their hot dogs.....sound in this cavarn is still awful but not the the tenors....back 3rd Friday in April at 11 a m....A 91
1-3 played poker at the Palace Station...won $58 A- 92
330-530 umpired a high school baseball game Bonanza 9 Valley 4....the coaches had control of their players and I enjoyed the game...very well umpired 100 A+
6-830 raced to the Springs Preserve in Las Vegas to see one of my heroes....Ken Burns. You must know Burns.....the greatest filmaker-story teller in history.....he has some credits....the Civil War (only the greatest thing every on tv) Baseball...Jazz....The Brooklyn Bridge and coming this fall National Parks....12 hours on PBS. ONE OF MY HEROS ! The bastards got me again...the free tickets said 6 but they waited til 7 for darkness to show the preview video. Burns introduced by Pat Mulroy of the water district and Tom Axtell of PBS ....he gave a short talk 20 minutes...something with the word arrangement about the same as the Gettysburg address....what a genius.....the words are the same for everyone....limited....you have to put them in the right order ! The obviously hall of fame video a preview of what to come (done over 10 years...somewhat longer than it took to write this review)...Burns then took questions. This obviously an over the top event because of who and what it was in this perfect outdoor amphitheatre cannot get a perfect score because the tickets said 6 and we started at 703. Burns and his act the best I have ever seen....the event gets 36 F for late.
830-10 Wranglers hockey.....they started without me....Wranglers on a rush win 5-2 over top point leader Ontario....I know they started on time and will tonight at 735....they always get A+ 100
