THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE

BY ED BRUCE mailto:edbrucevegas@yahoo.com

RECOMMENDED TO THE WORLD

Signature productions has established itself as a producer of world class theatre in Las Vegas.
Millie was another example..........more of the same !

The current production at the Summerlin Library Theatre for most of April is an example of theatre with all the elements. I was excited to see this one, because it was the first time for me to check out Millie.....not all the great songs of Oklahoma, Annie Get Your Gun or the Music Man but solid music with a live orchestra carried the load.

All the elements....good story well told...excellent cast....excellent choreography and dancers....excellent use of lots of bodies on a reatively small stage.....nice lighting......great costumes.....a cast that acted like they wished to give you their best effort.....very nice set.....well paced show with flair and an actor that really caught my eye....Erik Ball who had an over the top cherry part and played the hell out of it. Lets credit director Leslie Fotheringham for put all the ends together in this strong on going production.....I loved it !

Started late 8 minutes so they get 91 A- mostly for late.....nice program......GO !
