GORDY BROWN

BY ED BRUCE edbrucevegas@yahoo.com

Comic, impressionist, singer....downtown Las Vegas...Golden Nuggett...great talent !

At one time I thought Gordie was better than Danny Gans...recent events have evened them up. Brown coming off a world tour opening for Celine...now returning to the Nugget showroom upstairs for his 7:30 shows.....sort of...he was nine minutes late and then made fun of a couple arriving at 744....hypocracy !

Brown a mega talent with good fresh material now in a tough spot for old farts like me trying to cover three generations of impressions...and admittedly lots of the new ones I do not know.

TOO LATE...TOO LOUD...NOT TOO DARD...HE GOT 2 OF THE BIG THREE !

Two keyboards...two guitars and a way way way way way way too loud drummer..we need to stamp out drummers especially here where I am looking for punch lines and can't hear. Buddy Holly had the ultimate production in its play...this show just the opposite. I still love Gordy and his $10,000 teeth and his sneak smirk grin...he needs to tighten it up.

Never happy with late and loud and........ moving the crowd down...maybe 150 in this rebuilt upstairs hard to find theatre...you have to want to go....compressed stage...new seats....great air conditioning.

Never ever a good idea to roam the audience and ask people where they are from or what they do...even Rickles makes me uncomfortable with this !

This is a review ....this is what we got...85 minutes ...great entertainer...mabe peeked out.

I would recommend this to the world !
