8 MINUTES LATE....WEAK AC.....HORRIBLE AUDIO MIX
ALL FIXABLE....I CALLED THEM ! ! !
What a great cute little play....music and lyrics by William Finn (lots lost on opening night due to the audio production)...book by Rachel Sheinkin....conceived by Rebecca Feldman.....these the parents of this child....kudos...great creativity !
I had not seen the play before and like sex sometimes the first time is best...you always get the first impression !
First late...never acceptable and this company usuallly good here...not tonight....just 101 minutes...thanks for no intermission ! Usual texting....all devices should be left at the door..... and a terrible stinking 2 year old in diabers...why do they admit infants.....AC could have been fixed too !
Now here is the real deal...lyrics and cute script are useless if you can't hear them and with this being a musical ...new songs for me...I had hoped to hear them...not here ! Only a piano and drums and this another perfect place to kill the drummer......yah know Ringo was never in the road and he was backup for the best music ever !...(this durmmer killed the lyrics ......piano not much better ) ! What is the purpose of great lines if the audience does not receive them ? Here is a spot where canned soft background audio would have been perfect ! This even more important in a musical where all the lyrics are new to me.....HELL I had the same problem with West Side Story and I know most of the lyrics there !
Las Vegas Little Theatre.....362 7996...www.lvlt.org.....this the best thing LVLT has done in a couple of years and its production could have been so much better !

What a cute little play....corny....over the top....very well cast....great costumes and an excellent job from all the actors doing their part to interact and be believable ! Especially liked Joe Hynes and Christine De Chavez ....all the actors were good....lots of talent on this stage this night ..it would have been great to HEAR every line the writer gave them ! I can review what they give me !
How do I grade this one for the offsetting pluses and minuses ? I enjoyed it and could have enjoyed it more if they had done their production jobs !
Lose 8 for being late...5 for texting...5 for infants AND 20 for bad audio mix...thats 38 off of the top of a really lovely little play .....61 D-
RECOMMEND THIS TO THE WORLD....HOPEFULLY THEY WILL FIX IT UP...THEY HAVE TIME
