SINATRA DANCE WITH ME

BY ED BRUCE edbrucevegas@yahoo.com

TRULY SHOCKING THAT SOMETHING THIS GOOD AND HIGH CLASS WOULD BE LATE. The show at the WYNN Las Vegas 8 minutes late and of all things.... walking down the runway as we entered was Steve Wynn himself looking for cigarette butts or something out of detail. Magnificent Hotel Casino with top staff and a great look, on attention to detail on everything, then they commit world class everything to this show and start 8 minutes late. Worse here than anywhere because of their preceived image...most of the 600 patrons were on time (they actually seated people 15 minutes into the show-pretty much unavoidable I guess) !

Time is the real deal for old people like me, especially me...one point off your score for every minute late so they start with 92...what a disgrace ! My only other negative was the bartender using imitation drinks and glasses when the real thing and some colored water could have played better. Not my fault they were late, I am always on time.

Saturday the Rose Parade with 800,000 fans, 47 floats, 22 equestrians, 27 bands...started right on time...I was on time too !

ENOUGHT OF THAT....THE SHOW RECOMMENDED TO THE WORLD...FIRST CLASS IN EVERY WAY !

First you have Sinatra with 25 vocals under or over 17 pieces and recorded strings, perfectly melded to what could be a concert in itself. 13 horns...bass...drums...guitar...piano and mix...music itself overpowering to me and to Steve Wynn who did ads with Sinatra for his old Golden Nuggett in the 1980's.
Music, a show in itself !

I suppose this was really to be dance and sure as hell was...7 pairs and all terrific...all the preparation they experienced in their historys paid off here as a 14 member team. It is an ensemble with 19 in rotating parts...how could you tell who was first team when the dancers well all world class...so great to be young, professional, rehearsed, beautiful, athletic, prepared and look good too.

The program conceived, choreographed and directed by Twyla Tharp...you take that and the Sinatra music and you can make it a perfect marriage...they did on this night.
Pro football is speed, power and timing....EXACTLY what happened here and I might remark, 100% of the plays rehearsed worked here. I was actually overwhelmed by the movement and timing.... set and hit to the music by everyone...almost exhausting to watch with the dancers constantlly working so hard and all the way off on their exits. I guess in my critical effort I seek errors...didn't see any here.

ABSOLUTLEY WONDERFUL CAST OF DANCERS AND MUSICIANS WITH THARP AND SINATRA !

Glad I live in Las Vegas and have the opportunity to see this...it is on a short run (something I hope could change)...how could you miss it 770 9966 hurry.
