LAS VEGAS CONTEMPORARY DANCE THEATRE

BY ED BRUCE edbrucevegas@yahoo.com

11 minutes late...two too many intermissions ! NEGATIVES OUT OF THE ROAD !

This the concluding performance of the LVCDT fifth year and they continue to do a sensational job, world class dance, world class production, world class choreography and world class dancing....especially by founding father Bernard H Gaddis.

LVCDT now traveling and working in benefit shows locally will extent to the Smith Center on May 29th.

Every performance from this group has had something that just knocked my socks off...not in this program. It was all well done and well performed just not at the overwhelming level that they have stamped on themselves.

BRETHREN....7 guys bare chested in white skirts on some Christlike Cross mission that was performed flawlessly that was too long and repititious.

VESPERS....6 girls working with chairs...music too booming and repeating and this was also too long and involved some rolling around on the floor...I did not dislike it...it was well done with exceptional costumes and lighting.

METAMORPHOSIS TWO...Gaddis and Christopher McKenzie pair statuesque...too short and the best of show.

MOOD INDIGO...12 dancers in varied sequences in beautiful blue costumes, full speed and this one was the right length.

LVCDT remains world class in every way...impressive to see what they can do with a library theatre....WEST LAS VEGAS LIBRARY...LIGHTING, STAGING, SOUND, MOVEMENT AS WELL AS PERFORMANCE AND PROGRAMS.

I am sorry I was not as overwhelmed with this as I was with their previous performances...you can't make me love it...I CAN'T WAIT FOR THEIR NEXT SHOW...THIS IS RECOMMENDED TO THE WORLD...2 SHOWS REMAIN SATURDAY AND SUNDAY..702 366 9436
