2013 PBR World Finals tickets on sale now
Top bull riders battle for $2.2 million, World Championship as PBR celebrates 20 years in Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS - The Professional Bull Riders
announced on Monday
that tickets are now available for the 2013 PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals
on Oct. 23-27,
2013, at the Thomas & Mack Center.
It will be the 20th year that Las Vegas has hosted the world’s best bull
riders and the fiercest bucking bulls at the richest bull riding event on the
planet. PBR World Finals has a total purse of $2.2 million dollars, including a $1 million bonus to
the PBR World Champion who also receives the coveted World Champion
buckle.
With each of
the last two World Finals drawing almost 70,000 fans, advance ticket
purchase is encouraged to avoid missing the adrenaline-soaked action when the
Top 35 bull riders in the world risk it all against their four-legged opponents,
who can weigh as much as 2,000 pounds.
Tickets for all five days of competition are
$125-$1,250, while individual day tickets are $18-$48. Bull riding begins at
6 p.m. on
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and at 11:30 a.m. on
Sunday. Tickets are available at the Thomas & Mack Center box office,
www.UNLVTickets.com, and by
telephone at (866) PBR-SHOW.
The World Finals will consist of six rounds of
competition, with the first five rounds featuring all qualifying riders against
the toughest bulls. The scores from the five rides will be combined and the Top
15 riders will advance for an additional round of competition, following the
completion of Round 5 on Oct. 27. The rider with the highest combined score from
each of the six rounds will earn the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals Event
title and $250,000.
Silvano Alves is
the first rider in history to win back-to-back PBR World Championship titles,
accomplishing the feat in 2011 and 2012. In 2011, Alves became the first rider
to win the World Championship the year after winning the Rookie of the Year
title. Alves has career earnings of $3,248,019, and reached another milestone
when he surpassed $3 million faster than any bull rider in history, achieving it
in 76 events and 28 months. He also reached $2 million (23 months and 58
events), and $1 million (18 months and 47 events) faster than any rider
ever.
