Bonus checks create a change on leader board
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Bonus checks for the top six finishers in the Wrangler Million Dollar Tour standings have been issued today, leading to one change at the top of the world standings with two-time and reigning World Champion Bareback Rider Kaycee Feild moving ahead of Ryan Gray to the top of the leader board.
Feild finished first in the Wrangler MDT standings and that afforded him a bonus payment of $7,500 which was added to his world standings total. That was just enough to nudge him past Gray by $552 with Wes Stevenson moving up from fourth to third.
The bonus check for finishing first in the WMDT tie-down roping standings allowed two-time and reigning World Champion Tuf Cooper to become the first PRCA cowboy this season to surpass $100,000 in a single event. His total is $102,094, giving him a lead of $16,953 over Tyson Durfey in second place.
The six-month nationwide Tour, comprised of 20 of the PRCA's most prestigious rodeos, wrapped up on Aug. 10 with the conclusion of Silver Tour rodeos in Hermiston, Ore., Lovington, N.M., and Sikeston, Mo. Independent auditors went over all of the payout sheets on Aug. 12-13 and the bonus checks were approved today.
