Bullring to close exciting 2017 season with West Coast Short Track Championships

            LAS VEGAS – Another action-packed season of racing at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway will come to a close with the West Coast Short Track Championships on Saturday night.
            The SPEARS Southwest Tour Series, Lucas Oil Modified Series and USAC HPD Midgets Series all will run as part of the race schedule, which will also include a Jr. Late Models feature. Gates open earlier than normal, 2 p.m. Pacific Time, and racing will kick off at 5 p.m.
            Action at the 3/8-mile paved oval begins with the first of two Lucas Oil Modifieds feature segments, a 50-lap stretch, and continues with a 40-lap Jr. Late Models race. The Lucas Oil Modifieds will then finish their night with a 50-lap feature segment that will decide the race winner, and the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series’ 125-lap feature serves as the evening’s nightcap.
            Blaine Rocha of Oakdale, Calif., is the defending champion for the SPEARS Southwest Tour event, which will pay $10,000 to the winner. Californian Ryan Partridge dominated the 2016 Lucas Oil Modifieds race after setting the track record in qualifying and pocketed $4,000 for the victory.
            Fans can enjoy watching qualifying for all three series, a 40-lap Lucas Oil Modifieds B-Feature and two eight-lap USAC HPD Midgets heat races before opening ceremonies at 5 p.m. A 30-lap USAC HPD Midgets race also will be part of the night’s racing lineup.
            The West Coast Short Track Championships serve as a fitting exclamation point to an immensely successful Bullring season and will be broadcast live on MAVTV Motorsports Network.
