Acclaimed oboist Stephen Caplan will perform on the UNLV Chamber Music Society on Thursday, April 17th, in his final semester at UNLV!
The UNLV Chamber Music Society concludes the 2024-25 season with a recital featuring Dr. Stephen Caplan!
After 38 stellar years of teaching at UNLV, Dr. Stephen Caplan will be retiring, leaving an impressive record in his wake. Before he leaves, however, the Las Vegas community will have one more opportunity to hear him in recital.
For this final performance Stephen has put together a rich and varied program which will include Mozart's quartet for oboe and strings, a sextet by Gordon Jacob, and "Lockdown," by Phillip Bimstein, as well as works by Astor Piazzolla and William Grant Still. He will be assisted by UNLV faculty members Katie Leung, piano, John McMurtery, flute, Brian Conger, clarinet, Chris Castellanos, horn, Liz Valvano, bassoon, Greg Koenig, guitar, and Andrew Smith, cello, as well as Alex Dyubinsky and Susan Kim, violins, Hanna Suk, viola, and Tyler Gordon, bass. You will not want to miss this fun-filled evening!
The concert will be performed at UNLV's Dr. Arturo Rando-Grillot Recital Hall on Thursday, April 17th at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $25 and are available at the UNLV box office, or online at: https://www.unlv.edu/pac/tickets
