TOMMY JAMES & THE SHONDELLS

TOO LATE, TOO LOUD, TOO BAD

Actually not too bad, just too loud !

Another old rock band at the Silverton Casino in Las Vegas, they do their concerts outdoors (hot) poolside, next to the I-15 freeway under their own marquee......strange but quasi effective. This thing started at 810 went for 57 minutes. Lots of casinos give away tickets to this type of show probably for good reason, to draw traffic and this one did, if you paid $25 bucks it would have been money well spent.

I am still researching what a Shondell is and what the story on Tommy James is ( rocking all his life, nice guy, on Hubert Humprey campaign, can't be all bad) ?

Here is what I got ! A 60 year old rocker with most of his hair who loves to play and entertain and he did. Crimson and Clover, Crystal Blue Persuassion, Hanky Panky, I Think We are Alone Now, some pretty nice rock stuff here, 3 guitars, 2 keyboards, and unfortunately a way too loud drummer. Anyway if the noise is too loud it kills some of lyrics and what is a song if not lyrics. The BEATLES in all their genius were not too loud.

Tommy James comes down to the crowd and gives hugs which is sure and hell a big plus in anybodys world and he seems like he means it.....lots of people had good times here and I was one of them. Late really kills the score here! 85 AVERAGE B
