DON QUIXOTE

Boy I love the ballet !

Nevada Ballet Theatre here in Las Vegas just keeps getting better !

This, the kickoff program for the new season followed by the annual Nutcracker, Stravinsky to Sinatra and Cinderella. These shows continually well set, beautifully customed, well staged with continually better dancing. Thank you. Artistic Director Bruce Steivel has been opening the shows with some brief pertinent remarks that I like, he has a nice grasp on the real world and his talent and vision continue to be seen on the stage.

The Bolshoi did Don Quixote here at the old Aladdin's huge stage theatre maybe 15-20 years ago and it was overpowering with a live 90 piece orchestra. The limitations of the Judy Bayley theatre of course do not allow this level of spectacle, however the great effort here takes a back seat to no one! I just love the athletic ability, teamwork and timing of the ballet and I am proud to live where their is a total commitment to this excellence. Thank You !

About 3 minutes late with the usual over long intermission and late arrivers crawling over me.

Ok I still give em a 97 A+
