THE KINGSTON TRIO

Well, second generation anyway and very good.

3 identical guitars (+banjo) and bass, vocals, folk music from the sixties, thats it. 2 sold out nights at the South Pointe Casino in Las Vegas.

It is the simpleist of themes, yet very effective, Tom Dooley, MTA, Ruben James, Tijuana Jail and Four Strong Winds, damn nice songbook, not too loud, some overuse of innane prater and a highlite with Founding Father Bob Shane flying up from Phoenix to do his signature, Scotch and Soda and Tom Dooley. I love this sound and the lyrics.

First time for me in this showroom, not the best with bars on 3 sides, floor level seating (we had a booth) and the sound was ok.

Hopefully more of this here, again all the music pre 1970 to fit into the all the great music has already been written category, lots of people my age here (social security) plus, it was 8 minutes late.

90 A- for the music, talent and history
