NEVADA CHAMBER MUSIC SOCIETY

Yet another example of how to screw up a good thing !

What's chamber music ? STRINGS !

Not today. Well not exclusively anyway like I had hoped for.

This group performs four or five free shows at a Las Vegas Library auditorium annually. All we needed was the cello, viola and violin which is exactly what we got for the opening half act. Fine.

Then two soft guitars soloed and I could live with it, but I saw half a dozen standing mikes behind the strings and I knew there was trouble abrew. Could not have been worse, a guy that doesn't speak English introducing Spanish singers with Spanish lyrics. That in itself would have been OK but not at a chamber concert. The worse part is they were too long and caused the deletion of a Beatles number in the second half (among others). Too much inbreeding here.

I just loved the 3 ladies that played the strings and I loved all their music (my music) but again I was raped. They started late ! Nice premise, nice auditorium, semi-nice sound.

Hard to grade this with the violation of sounds but they must pay in the total picture C 74.
