TBCOTA
CITY OF LAS VEGAS office of cultural affairs, third friday each month at the Lloyd George U S Courthouse. Downtown Las Vegas great free lunch, great free shows, awful acoustics in the auditorium but what can you do?
The Manny Kellough Jazz Quartet, started on time, acted like they were enjoying the performing, not too loud, nice music, first class show, well dressed mature jazz players. Thank you. 98 A+ .......more great stuff every third Friday...how can you beat this deal?
More good stuff.....this Lindell Blake singer / dancer. Again first class started on time, two guitars and a not too loud drummer and one hall of fame type talent. Lindell Blake sang, danced and especially tap danced......boy was he a treat. Great athlete, great stage presence, chrative, warm, lots of smiles and a load of talent, pretty much 75 minutes of one man show. Maybe there is hope for new creative music, this guy had some and while it was new and with lyrics it didn't kill me, an A+ 100. Could not have been better, evidentally Blake played here a decade ago at New York New York in a stage show. This effort at the Reed Whipple Cultural Center downtown Las Vegas for a sold out theatre for 70. Evidentally this was some trial breaking in run for this and how very lucky I was to have experienced it. It could play an main room in Las Vegas on talent and creativity alone....of course I am prejudice for tap, but none the less this was first class stuff. Thanks to Lindell and the Reed Whipple for making this happen.
