LETS START LATE

Saturday afternoon I went to the Fiesta Casino as usual to pick up my free gift for playing the slots....on their marquee was college hockey at 6 in the Sobe ice arena ....a no brainer, it was 545....I went in. Glad I did UNLV-BYU college club hockey the school spentd 8 million on 3 2-9 football teams and nothing on hockey. What? I have now seen NHL (never again) ECHL, high high school and now college hockey...I am partial to the game. This was cool .....good competition, 18 minute periods, referees, power plays, passing, penalties and in this event even competion which is my quest....they have more games here and a web site www.unlvrebelshocky.org
negatives...10 minutes late....horrendous loud rap music at every stoppge of play...why is this asshole always ready to fire this crap at me and never miss while other issues are not so reliable.....in this arena the ice is totally. protected by a screen which we must watch threw ....seems unnecessary....more in two weeks B 83 I am going back!

Saturday evening better music but not to my taste. The Las Vegas Philharmonic started 4 minutes late and selected music that did not pull my chain. For the first time I attened the pre game show with conducter David Itkin and guest pianist Ilya Yakushev...this started on time and provided some great history on the music...wish they had taken questions!

Shost5akovich 6 short vigtnettes...great...wish I had gone home at 820. @6 year old Yakushev played Ravel's piano Concerto in G major and while I am sure he did not miss any notes the music did nothing for me....same story for Schuberts symphony no.l 9 ...58 minutes...Itkin loved it..I did not.......Itkin said Schubert did 100's of works in his short 31 year old life ...I have yet to find any I like. This concert would illustrate why Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Vivaldi, Dvorak and Beethoven are my top classical composers.

Nice crowd at UNLV's Ham Hall, good soudn, well played, I just was not in touch with the music.
I will be back 88 B+
