Saturday I went to the dog show strut your Mutt. What a nice deal this was, 100's of dogs and owners showing off their pooches all pretty well disciplined , even the owners! Friendly competition in various categories for nice prizes on a beautiful Las Vegas Saturday moring, 5 hours of fun, booths and semi social activities with a great MC. Bottom line is I was impressed with how the dogs treated each other with hello's, smells, sniffs and some social respect unlike most of societys. How about an A 96 for this, see ya all next year.
And what does all of this have to do with Tchaikovsky, everything of course. Along with the bad movie Elizabeth the Golden age, it made up a lovely Saturday for me. In 1891-1892 Tchaikovsky composed his third and final great ballet, The Nutcracker. This eternal Christmas classic came to the Henderson Pavillion from the Moscow ballet company with I am sure some local kids in the cast. No programs! One show. You cannot go wrong here with (next to McCartney) the greatest music ever. Not the greatest production ever, started late, the usuela late seating, kids running around, internal tracks meets and a 19 minute 15 minute intermission.
All productions have a different taste and production and this having played here two years ago had some nice touches with some really fine Russain dancing to include the lead balleriana.
Thanks for bring this in Henderson Nevada 95 A.
