HENDERSON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

by Ed Bruce edbrucevegas@yahoo.com

What a great premise, what a peripheral experience.

I tried so hard, I wanted the total experience !

I wanted the music and the outline could not have been better... altho new hurdles intercepted my mission !

First the outdoor concert was met with coolish coldish overcast weather...secondly the center of the theatre was roped off...why ? I looked up and leather banners with steel plates had come unfastened in the wind and the blowing and clanking (quite loudly) were nearly non stop and super noisy. They started 3 minutes late, they had an intermisssion, hecklers appeared at intermission and after ward, crying babies, patrons that cannnot sit still and again and again the clanking of the overhead bad construticon were a constant interruption. All this while I was trying to work on Beethoven's Sixth.

So sad, that all these talented muscians and Conductor Taras Krysa (one of my new heroes) were competing unjustly for attention.

Young people to lead off...... piano, 2 violins and cello, all oriental children (whats the message here) all playing short pieces with the orchestra...all wonderful. Beethovens great sixth symphony for the second half....the music and talent was so good that it will not detract from their score. Excellent program, all the names and bios and stories on the music which I love....no announcemnets until we were out of the theatre....strange...the conductor tried to address the crowd (small) after intermission and he was lost in the wind...bad strategy !

Henerson symphony...I am there for you every time. 96 A
