The title enough to get my attention ! Just after another senseless Las Vegas shooting when I think there is no hope in the world.....string players come along to give me optimism for continuing !
This the inaugural event for LVCC at the Flamingo library theatre to include all the usual negatives : late (just a schoosch) loud (pretty much) and dark (a bit). There was the usual fan traffic and a new record for rings on a cell phone during the introduction (21) and I did not like the horseshoe sound system (me thinks the sides are bad)...I did not care for most of the music so on top of that....... I loved it and can't wait to go back.
They are http://www.lvchamberconcerts.org/ 800 507 4922....next April 26...Bach, Vivaldi and Mozart.
This was a semi rehearsed production with a wonderful talented group of artists at all levels.
Superstar Clint Holmes did two sets to include "I Gotta Be Me", string quartet Ethel did two sets (cello, viola, 2 violins ) this had my name on it and The Las Vegas Academy provided a dozen strings, a dozen voices and a dozen guitars, thak you again.... such great promise for the future.
I was not crazy about loud electric strings.... but appreciated the talent...Ethel a revered group with wires and too much noise like Bellamoure but their presence and talent is wonderful...then at the end.... the entire groupings did an extended Eleanor Rigby....that one sent me home with a tingle in my system.
This expected to be an annual series, call em check out their web, be entertained.....A 93
