A play by Wendy Wasserstein that won her the Tony and the Pulitzer Prize ! I didn't get it ! Maybe part of my problem was a review from another writer that was highly critical and I wan't to disagree with him........... but I couldn't !
This the final play of the season for the Las Vegas Little Theatre.....they try, they are busy, they work at it....... but didn't get it done here !
I did not like the set, I did not like the actors (all of them) and I did not get the relationships between the actors. Wasserstein had Glenn Close and Meryl Streep playing Heidi in 1977 when this play was born....none of that tonight. I did get to see some nice impressionist art which was part of the story line, the play started on time and John Lennon's Imagine was used only too briefly for a bridge ....that was the extent of the pluses. I just did not get the interplay....... and then contemporary dialogue between the actors. Pretty bare set and lighting. Thanks for trying ! D 64 Next up here Rita Rudners Room 776 June 13-29.....lets check it out !
