What does follies mean ? I looked it up.... 1. A revue with elaborate costuming.
Exactly what we got here. I saw a Will Rogers impersonator last year.....it was historical, professional, a one man show, he was great. That was not the show here ! This was done at great expense on a Broadway-Las Vegas strip big scale theme.
We get the original total package here from the book by Peter Stone, music composed and arranged by Cy Coleman with original New York Production and Choreographed by Tommy Tune. The Musical Actors Theatre group of Las Vegas tackled this project for July at the Summerlin Library Theatre to no small cost ! Great costumes, live orchestra, 16 dancing girls and the challenge of following this New York production. Gee... they had a 12 step stage with footlights, an orchestra pit and the outline to duplicate the monster....they made a hell of an effort. As Anthony Del Valle wrote, " There's something about the soft, steady flow of elegance that keeps you smilling."
This is the story of Will Rogers, historically monumental himself and a story hard to tell in 2 hours, I loved the previous performer who did Rogers and therefore the bar was high so Michael Brown had a heavy load to carry....his effort was adequate...his talent level revealing !
I loved it.....B. Noelle Rowe as Ziefeld's favorite girl was enough to make me return for an encore performance. It was a tad loud with some of the songs overpowered by the orchestra and a less than adequate sound system....I somehow always wish to here every word ! It was only one minute late and the lightening was pretty good....that covers the big three. Nice theatre, great staff and my thanks to them all for entertaining me !
Cover the big three and entertain me...yeah..... A 95

And no applause for the pilot in the front row? Oh, well.
Glad you loved the show and are telling others about it.
We are getting standing ovations everynight and its the best cast I've every worked with.
Let's go flyin' sometime,

Thanks for all the kind words and I am glad you enjoyed the show. It is a great effort by our community actors especially using those bleachers! Enjoy the show
