STEVE WYRICK

A little birdie flew in the window and landed on my shoulder with an invitation for the Steve Wyrick magic show, a tv taping with the Teutels for American Chopper and an after party at the Hawaiian Tropic Zone with gourmet food and drinks .....all at Planet Hollywood ! I accepted !

Lots of history here with this the 1000th show for Wyrick at PH and Wyricks recent shot on the Letterman show.....involving a trucking of equipment only surpassed by NASCAR !

I have never been overly impressed by Wyricks last shows and theatres......Lady Luck and Sahara and Alladin.....there was some changed to that observation Friday night !

Lets start at the top....late....loud .....and dark ! Kickoff on my invitation for 700pm....kickoff at the theatre after hitting 46 steps (up and down) ...731.... so they lost 31 points on my grading scale to D+ before kickoff......there were some munchies and rap music in the downstairs lounge and smoking in a negative atmosphere of smuuuuuuuuzzzing before we climbed mount Everest !
Who in the hell are these people.....and they were all younger than us.....I really believe they were friends of the family and not journalists ! Anyway maybe 300 in this loft... for a 680 capacity.....the crowd mostly yuppies and free loaders with plenty of room for two more in my party.......which were denied.

Early show music too loud....... and some backstage spotlights shinning in my face.....overall lighting not the best.....completing the negative big three .....too late, too dark and too loud !

Now the show......it was damn good...... with excellent productions in Wyricks known bag of tricks....all pretty much well staged (to much time in the audience) with excellent hard working staff and girls ! Anytime I am amazed and ask myself how does he do that, its the answer to success.....or not. Success here..... I now reccomend this show to all if you can make the stairs. This is no small time project with lots of expensive props and production.....all presented to me with a fine renewed zest ! One segent with a five year old worked very very very well but this was due to a charming little boy named Brandon and some good luck in finding him in the audience !

After the show we waded thru the caverns of Planet Hollywood to the strip marquee where we waited another half hour with smucks and yippies smoking and drinking in front of loud rap music for the Teutels and Wyrick to marry a "bike". They did ! We ate very nice munchies and took the tour to the parking lot.

It was a nice evening with Janet....she is more patient than I am.

You cannot improve your Ed Bruce score in any way after being late so they start at 69 and end at 67 D+
