A PROJECT DESIGNED TO STIMULATE AND ENCOURAGE ARTISTIC GROWTH ! YES !
At 1236 Sunday I was exiting the I-15 to Spring Mountain road heading for the Treasure Island Mystere theatre to see this show. At this point I realized there was trouble ahead as traffic was backed up in the right turn lane from the freeway to the TI parking garage with the usual number of late comers trying to arrive at the same venue....I went around, parked at the Mirage, raced to the line for tickets to this show.....a line still holding dozens were waiting 116 way past kickoff. The point here is I already have this negativity en mass before the show begins. I don't have the answer but anybody who could produce this level of quality show could certainly figure this out ! They get em in on time for Mystere....maybe the solution is to force everyone to have their ticket before arriving and don't let them in after kickoff !
The show contained the big three negatives.....too late...too dark...too loud ! That said what a marvelous event....sold out for two Sundays and bringing to 4000 this world class dance entertainment in a world class venue. It was late......killing a perfect score for my grading...it was definitely very dark by design which I do not approve of (artisitic choice here) .......and with Mozart saving the day it was marginly too loud.....everything is too loud for us senior citizens !
Oh my what talent..... the best dancers in the world in a marriage of Nevada Ballet Theatre and Cirqueo du Soleil.....new creative ideas from both teams in this best in the world venue. What an effort to put dance, lights, hydraluic lifts, turning stages, spotlights and all this production into just two 90 minutes shows ! The 15 pieces perfectly costumed, danced at full speed plus and some ending with the dancers jumping into the pit like at the Mystere show....well done.
Actually the dances themselves were not overpowering for me with lots of arm waving and quick exits but I love so much anything well done and this was better than well done.
Among my reactions was the idea that as popular as this is more shows could be available...maybe 4 Sundays....keep up the creativity !

Finished my monster weekend with Laughter in the Rain and Neil Sedaka at the Orleans !
Nothing better than this with Neil at 69 holding 97 percent of his voice and 100% of his genius !
Neil can still sell out 4 nights !
A+ 100 he starts on time !
