FALL DANCE CONCERT 2008

by ed bruce edbrucevegas@yahoo.com

YES

This four pieces from the College of Southern Nevada Fine Arts Department at the Nicholas J. Horn Theatre north north Las Vegas.......starting late ! 7 minutes and a world record 36 minute intermission...brother I read the entire USA Today paper...did the crossword and soduzo and had a Mountain Dew.

I still love the dance and this pretty good stuff, anything with Artistic Director and Principal Choreographer Kelly Roth's name on it will be good....this no exception. First half 31 minutes, student dancers, some better than others and excellent choreography and music....a tad dark.

During this 36 minute intermission I found it interesting that they were not able to clean up the mess of falling leaves from the first half !

The Juliet Letters.....69 minutes ....I don't what the hell this was but I liked it. Dance, narration song and live music. Anytime you get 3 violins and a cello going you will have a winner ! Paul Villaluz (Las Vegas answer to Jamers Earl Jones) did the background songs for this....he has a beautiful voice, does the National Anthem for Las Vegas Wranglers hockey for 6 years and he does lots of other great stuff...what a talent....you have him, the music and some good choreographered dance telling this epic story....it was enjoyable....you really have to see it to get it.....I didn't get it, but I saw it and liked the artsy parts !

They repeat this twice today.....91 A-
