DVORAK AND SEDAKA

by ed bruce edbrucevegas@yahoo.com

The Henderson Symphony today at their beautiful outdoor pavillion....classics...Mozart, Mendelssohn, Kabalevsky and Wieniawski.....four students playing short pieces with the orchestra here....then Symphony No. 9 from the New World by Dvorak ! Whereever the list of the greatest symphonys of all time is ....this is where the list starts. Conductor Taras Krysa you remain one of my heroes....a tad windy with a small crowd...maybe a 100 for this great event.

At one point the sun came thru the arena to highlight the conductors podium and a few heads spotlighting the assistant concert master....lovely by accident moment !

This could not have been better and was on time of course !

I am prejudice and now have made financial contributions to both valley symphonys...why not you...next May 22 more of the same Henderson Pavilion.

101 A++

Sunday night at the Orleans Theatre.....Laughter in the Rain....84 minutes of the great music by the worlds third greatest composer (can't move ahead of Lennon-McCarntey and Tchiakvosky)........Neil Sedaka. Now at 70 with 98% of his voice intact this remains a classic show and showman. Started on time.

Thanks for your genius Neil A+ 101
