ALL MY SONS

BY ED BRUCE edbrucevegas@yahoo.com

NEVADA CONSERVATORY THEATRE

THIS AT JUDY BAYLEY THEATRE ON UNLV CAMPUS

You can't be perfect if you start late, lie about the time of the intermission...allow children in and let cell phones go off....THAT AFTER A PRE SHOW WARNING...JUST ME I GUESS....what a silly boy I am...I went on time to listen to the story and the script....lots of obstacles along lifes merry way.

Anyway...major theatre production...story by Arthur Miller...equity actors...beautiful set...first class production and a real heavy storyline. I have seen this before...its been awhile and I needed a refresher course...I got it here...fine acting to tell the story...not great just fine and as I always sit in the rear...here up front could have helped because I missed a few lines...and in this American classic...all the lines are important especially in this story !

Miller wrote this after WWll....movie 98 minutes...this play 115 minutes ...movie with Edward G Robinson and Burt Lancaster...certainly would leave the bar high..I want to see the movie and I did like this play....my movie book.."Arthur Miller's compelling drama of returning soldier (Lancaster) discovering that his father (Robinson) cheated on a war material order, with tragic results. Post - WW2 drama is well acted, but verbose and preachy." Others write better than I but this is the just of it...I thought acting just average thru out but they did tell the story and that is the bottom line.

Great Set ! ! !

Runs thru Feb 7....highly recommended great theatre....895 2787 nct.unlv.edu
