Just a hell of start....Rodgers and Hamerstein....Broadway in Concert !
This one time only Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall at UNLV
More great stuff coming here....Feb 4 Moscow Festival Ballet-Coppelia
Feb 6 Les Ballets Truckadero-nonesense

OK.....it was late 5 minutes still uncalled for...show was great !
It was short...too short...78 minutes.
When I called they told me canned music...wrong piano breath....a great 4 piece combo...
ace piano player arranger Mark Hartman A+....Bass Geoff Neuman A+...drums Mark Pardy A+ just right never too loud did not get in the way of the lyrics...Violin LVPHIL concertmaster Deann Letourneau A++...Deann just right...she got the Johnny Mathis gig...the Phil and this...she not only adds to what is in front of her...she enjoys it.
OK...three broadway world class singers David Burnham...Leslie Kritzer...Christiane Noll...they did some music history for us and they all sang like nightingales. This performance here like all others enjoying the perfect sound system in this building...however good the Smith Center will be for sound it will not be better than Ham Hall !
This outline really special for us music historians...no new music...all great historical stuff from South Pacific...Oklhoma...Carousel...Sound of Music....you get the idea...we were in row 11...you could understand all the lyrics...every word.....WHAT A NOVEL IDEA !
I have heard all of those words in that order and hope I will hear them again in that order !
Burnham, here before in this type of show and he should be a regular in this Charles Vanda Master Series. There were some duets and combo singing which I do not prefer but the talent on stage got me through it.
No intermission a blessing, with a nice 2000 size crowd....left me wanting more...too short.
Frankie Valli in the 70's said "All the great music has already been written" here was the penultimate example of that.
A 93 (points lost for late)
