MOSCOW ST RADIO SYMPH ORCH

BY ED BRUCE edbrucevegas@yahoo.com

LATE GREAT SHORT !

This a continuing series of events under the Charles Vanda Master Series banner at UNLV'S Hall Hall. Small crowd on a cold windy Saturday night that interrupted my hockey schedule.

Three minutes late...great Russian music as one would expect...also well played.

Korsakov...10 minute opener...Stravinsky...part of the Firebird...intermission exactly 15 minutes...Stravinsky...Petrouchka...(really loved this...we were up close and the surrounding areas of the orchestra all were in and out giving a great space feel)...short encore....Tchaikovsky...Swan Lake tease...8 minutes...HOME.

9:30 and it was over....just 72 minutes of music...maybe they were in a hurry...it was ALL fine with 32 Russian violins...8 cellos...6 bass and a harp...you can never go wrong with 47 strings.

Vienna Boys Choir at Ham Hall Thursday...Bernedette Peters May 1...be there everything needs your support...you will love it !
