Big Rigs
returning to The Bullring at LVMS on Saturday night
For the third
consecutive year, the Canada-based North American Big Rig Racing series is
making the trek south of the border to do battle at the Las Vegas Motor
Speedway short track this Saturday night. The popular behemoths are opening
their 2018 racing season at The Bullring, and fans will be treated to
3,000-horsepower rigs going for the checkered flag at the 3/8-mile paved oval.
Gates open at 5
p.m. Pacific Time, with qualifying beginning at 5:30 p.m. and opening
ceremonies taking place at 6:50. Children 12 and under will be admitted free
with a ticketed adult on Saturday and throughout the 2018 Bullring season.
Saturday also will
mark the 2018 debut of the Jr. Late Models class at The Bullring, a class that
will be a fixture at the LVMS track this year as an official points-earning
division. NASCAR Super Late Models, Modifieds, Super Stocks and Bombers will be
in action as well, in addition to USLCI Legends, Thunder Cars and Bandoleros on
the 10-race schedule for the evening.
Two track records
were set at the last event on March 24, and with cooler temperatures expected
for Saturday, more could fall this weekend. Kyle Jacks (NASCAR Bombers), Kaden
Crouch (USLCI Bandolero Outlaws) and Landon Gresser (USLCI Bandolero Bandits) are
looking to remain perfect on the season and win their third straight features
on Saturday.
This weekend’s
event is the third of 12 points races for the track’s 10 major classes, and the
season continues through Saturday, Oct. 6.
One of the most
affordable entertainment options in Las
Vegas , the Bullring’s annual series will feature
family friendly concession prices that include $2 hot dogs and Coca-Cola
products and $3 Budweiser beer. Spectators can also save money by purchasing
admission tickets in advance by visiting or calling the LVMS ticket office at
800-644-4444 or online at LVMS.com.
