LAS VEGAS YOUTH ORCHESTRAS

Boy there is hope in the world, I saw dozens and dozens and dozens and dozens and dozens and dozens (may be more) of young folks playing the violin ! Hallelujah !

Four separate orchestras at my favorite Las Vegas venue, the Sammy Davis Jr. Festival Plaza in North Las Vegas. That's not because of my love for Sammy but because this outdoor stage is perfect for everything.

Four groups.....Ensemble, Sinfonia, Symphony and Philharmonic and I will be damned if I know the difference in these four words, my college dictionary from 1962 did not even have one of the words. Anyway there were lots of strings and nice sounds in this picnic setting, another twin show goes October 27 at the Henderson Pavillion. GO GO GO

Some negatives here with all these kids brothers and sisters running around between, during and after performances,..... big crowd maybe a 1000. The parental support which is great here
and with some really committed teachers and conducters; there is in fact hope. Would not the world be better off if we had more violin teachers ?

This picnic symphony started way to late, with way too much dead time and extra activities: however it was what it was .....and a nice opportunity to see hope,... the future and hear some really nice music played well. If it sucked I would have let you know and told you.

I am proud to support this young people concert series. A- 90 Keep it up.
