CSN CONCERT BAND

CSN concert band....well not quite....thats what I was expecting and that was the finale, but not what I got. I got the Johnson Jr. High School Jazz Band, Jazzphonic Band, conducted by Rich Matta. Sensational but 9 minutes late. This was billed as CSN Concert band, but this wonderful group of 11 12 and 13 year olds knocked my socks off ! What a great plan for these young folks to play their horns and perform prior to the college horn concert.

Nice sound in CCSN Horn Theatre with the junior high students playing Strauss, Ray Charles and Tchaikovsky (still worlds second greatest composer. Conductor Matta had good control of this special group of people who appeared to have a postive grab of life at their young ages.

So they played and were terrific, especially Hazen Mayo who played all the instruments....then they produced an intermission for the CSN Band....you know what intermission is don't you ? Thats right an opportunity to leave so .....I did ! See how that intermission kills you....I had enough with the Junior High....we did not have the track meet at this theatre as the night before....thankful for that ! 90 A- for Johnson Jr. High ....thanks for being good kids !
